I have worked at Valley View since September 2020, previous to that I spent 28 years as a Dental Nurse working along side a Dentist that specialised treating young children and patients. What I love most about working in a school, especially Valley View is that everyday is different and the staff and children bring a loving, dedicated and caring approach to teaching and learning which all make for a great working environment.I would say the funniest thing that happens to me is being asked about my ever changing hairstyles. The one word that best describes me is 'flexible'. -

I have worked in schools for 25 years on and off. At Rodley and Valley View continuously for the last 15 years.
I enjoy working in school. It's a super place to work - so much going on. No two days are ever the same. As for working at lunchtimes and breakfast club, when the children have been fed and watered, been kept safe and cared for, then it's a job well done. It's good to feel you've been a part of a team of staff that works well together and have made that happen.
So many things have been funny - like the time I made meringues with the children which turned out like pancakes, or I got stuck in the rings on the ski slope at Xscape whilst on a school trip and I couldn't get out for laughing and no one else could help for laughing! - to the things the children say or do that make me laugh. The best and most amazing thing ever is when a child achieves something that they have once struggled with and you see the look of pride on their face (Wow, wow, wow!)
A word to describe me: 'Caring'.

I have been working in school for over 15 years.
I always wanted to work with children, even when I left school, but ended up working in a department store for 13 years, having only meant to stay for a year! It took a while, but now I am working with children!
A funny thing that happened is when a  Year 4 child once asked to go to the toilet, and I told him to go straight in and out again. He then asked to go to the toilet again a few minutes later, and when I said You've only just been,  he said but you told me to go in and out again, I didn't actually go to the toilet!
A word to describe me would be 'Confidential'.

I qualified as an Early years practitioner in 2011 and I started working in schools in 2023. I have worked in Early Years settings for many years.
I absolutely love working in Early Years; everyday is different but very rewarding watching the children grow and achieve their goals in their development, and knowing I was part of it.
My best moment was when I first started at Valley View and in Nursery the children enjoy a water day in the summer. The children get to drench all the teachers and their friends. It was so much fun and great to be part of!
One word to describe me would be ‘Caring'.

I have worked in school nurseries for  since 2007.
I like helping the nursery children developing into independent, confident little people, who  are ready to start school.
I love to listen to the children whilst they play. Their imaginations make me laugh. I also like it when they achieve something that seems so small, like putting on their own coat, makes them so proud of themselves. Â
I am 'Patient'.

I have worked in schools since 2002, with a break when I had my children.I love working in Early Years and find the job very rewarding. Being able to nurture and support the youngest children in school to become confident and independent individuals is an absolute pleasure. My most memorable moment so far is when a nursery child asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up!I word to describe me is: Caring. -

I have been working in schools since 2019.I like my job because every day is different. The staff and pupils are very friendly and supportive, which makes it a lovely environment to work in. I really enjoy watching the children grow and celebrating their personal achievements with them. Playground duty always makes me smile seeing the children use their imaginations and enjoy their freedom is a joy.I have so many memorable moments because every day is different, but one that really stands out was on a school trip to Filey. We were only supposed to be paddling in the water, but it turned into a full sit-down splash with lots of laughter and fun. I've definitely learned to take a spare change of clothes next time!A word to describe me is 'Patient'.
